Only the capital and the counties of Cluj, Ilfov and Timiș remain in the red stage on the first day of 2021, and the number of Covid-19 infections is declining across the country.
The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days reported per 1,000 inhabitants has the highest value in Ilfov, where it fell from 4.68 to 4.65, followed by Bucharest – 3.85, compared to 4.1 a day ago, Timiș – 3.36 from 3.42 and Cluj – 3.16 from 3.33.
19 provinces are now in the “yellow zone”, with an incidence greater than 1.5, while another 19 provinces have already entered the green scenario, with less than 1.5 cases of infections per thousand inhabitants.
High values, but decreasing compared to the previous days, are registered in the counties of Constanța (index 2.89), Brașov (2.8) and Brăila (2.43).
The lowest incidences are found in Harghita (0.41), Gorj (0.58) and Vrancea (0.69) counties.
Almost 4,000 new cases on the first day of the year
The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced this Friday 3,938 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus.
In addition, 74 people died in the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths being 15,841 since the start of the pandemic. 1,111 patients are admitted to ATI.
Most of the new cases are in Bucharest: 435, followed by Iasi – 238, Ilfov – 206 in the other counties, and the number of new cases is less than 200.
