Actress Corinne Masiero was the star of the Cesar awards gala, after stripping on stage in protest against the lack of measures to support culture during the pandemic. “Without culture, without future” and “Give us back art, Jean (Jean Castex – Prime Minister of France)” were the messages inscribed on the actress’s skin.

Corinne Masiero, 57, appeared on stage in a donkey costume, over a dress with red stains that mimicked blood. The actress removed her clothes to show the messages written on her skin, causing a sensation at the French Oscars gala, reports BBC News.

The actress had been invited to deliver the costume award during the ceremony held in pandemic conditions, respecting social distance. Their protest comes as French cinemas have been closed for more than three months.

The big winner of the French “Oscars” is the film “Adieu Les Cons”, a black comedy directed by Albert Dupontel. The film tells the story of a seriously ill woman who is desperately searching for her son, managing to win several awards, including one for direction.

The award for best foreign film went to the Danish film “Another Round” by director Thomas Vinterberg.
