PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday, December 7, that he will go to consultations with President Klaus Iohannis to form a new government.
“I spoke with my colleagues, we have a proposal for a prime minister, namely Alexandru Rafila,” Marcel Ciolacu told Digi24.
Marcel Ciolacu announced on Sunday that the PSD has several options for prime minister, but the decision on who to propose will be made together with the Social Democrats. He also said that possible prime minister proposals are Sorin Grindeanu, Vasile Dincu, Mihai Tudose and more recently Alexandru Rafila, who opens the PSD’s list of candidates for the Chamber of Deputies in Bucharest.
Alexandru Rafila declared that he is honored to have been included by the PSD in the list of proposals for the post of prime minister, but also that this “implies a lot of responsibility.” Regarding a possible government with USR PLUS, he affirms that it is “a delicate discussion.”
“I am honored, but it is a proposal that must be weighed very well in terms of responsibilities, because it is not the nomination that matters, but the proper management of this country. (…) You know very well that NLP and USR said no. (…) The political situation, as a consequence of the evolution of the economy and the problems of society, will lead to a resettlement on the political scene and the PSD to be invited into a coalition that in order to handle health and social problems and economical. (…) He considers that the government has not managed to handle the crisis in the last month and a half. The electoral goal has contradicted the public health goal. We have come to control the pandemic. because the hospitals are outdated, ATI at the limit and new hospitalizations cannot be made ”, declared Alexandru Rafila for Digi24.ro.
