Klaus Iohannis invited the leaders of political parties and parliamentary formations for further consultations. The second round of talks will take place on Tuesday and the president may announce the name of the prime minister appointed to form the new government that same day.
“President Klaus Iohannis invited the presidents of the political parties and formations represented in the Romanian Parliament to the Cotroceni Palace for consultations in order to nominate the candidate for the position of Prime Minister. The consultations will take place on Tuesday, December 22 ”Is specified in a statement from the Presidency.
Meetings between the head of state and the leaders of the parties and parliamentary political formations according to the following program:
• 15:00 – Social Democratic Party (PSD);
• 15:30 – National Liberal Party (PNL);
• 16:00 – USR-PLUS Alliance;
• 16:30 – Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR);
• 17:00 – Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR);
• 17:30 – National minorities represented in Parliament.
