Alexandru Rafila declared on Monday, on Digi24, that it would be an honor for him to be the PSD’s nominee for the post of prime minister, but that this post implies “a lot of responsibility” and that it should reflect “a lot”. Regarding a possible government with USR-PLUS, he noted that all parties must be held accountable, and this could happen “in an EU country, in a crisis situation.”
Asked if PSD will go to the talks at the Cotroceni Palace, and his name will be proposed to take over the government, Alexandru Rafila told Digi24 that “it is possible to do this (Marcel Ciolacu, n.red)”.
“I am honored, but it is a proposal that must be weighed very well in terms of responsibilities, because it is not the nomination that matters, but the proper management of this country,” he added.
Asked also about whether he is ready to take over the government, Rafila said that he has to reflect “a lot”: “I cannot digest it overnight, because it involves a lot of responsibility and you have to weigh my answer very well. I am not in a campaign to accumulate positions, but it is also about personal responsibility. “
As for a government with USR PLUS, he said it was “a delicate discussion.”
“They know very well that PNL and USR said that they will not form an alliance with PSD. It remains to be seen if it is confirmed. And on the other hand, we will see what will happen in a few months or a year, because I firmly believe that what PSD can contribute in terms of experience and seriousness can contribute to managing the economic and social and medical crisis in the country ”, highlighted Alexandru Rafila.
On what he wrote in the Digi24 debate – alliance with USR-PLUS in one year – he made some clarifications: “The political situation, as a result of the evolution of the economy and the problems of society, will lead to a resettlement on the stage. politician and PSD to be invited to a coalition that can manage health, social and economic issues. If we are all responsible, if we are not angry and if we think that our place in Parliament is due to the voters, then this should happen in an EU country, in a crisis situation. Time will tell if we are right or wrong, it is important to control the public health crisis and reactivate the economy, so that people can lead a life as normal as possible. “
However, Alexandru Rafila attacked the current government: “He considers that it has failed to manage the crisis in the last month and a half.” “The electoral goal came into contradiction with the public health goal. We have stopped controlling the pandemic because the hospitals are outdated, the ATI is on the brink and new hospitalizations cannot be made. It reached a limit that, unfortunately, was accepted without any reaction in the conditions in which something had to be done in the field of public health and medical care, “he added.
However, the future deputy was optimistic about political collaboration in the health field, because this field “has no political color”, highlighting that “the 2006 health law is no longer relevant.”
How Alexandru Rafila sees the collaboration with AUR, especially in regards to the pandemic
Asked about the collaboration with AUR – the surprise of the parliamentary elections – Alexandru Rafila replied: “I don’t know anything about this party.”
“Obviously, I cannot agree with the breach of public health measures. Non-compliance with public health measures is not debatable in any way. I do not know the doctrine of this party, it is a newcomer to the political scene, ”said Rafila.
