Daniel Jurje (48 years old), a gendarme from the Mures County Gendarme Inspectorate, was the victim of a traffic accident that occurred on Friday, November 13, while on duty in Sovata, together with a colleague.
In a video post, shared live on Facebook, his daughter, Denisa, talks about the terrible moments her father went through until he lost his life. Following the traffic accident, Daniel Jurje was transferred to the Targu Mures Emergency Hospital for medical attention.
“I called and they told me I was pretty fine, I was telling myself that I was going to be fine, I just needed a CT scan and then I would go home. I stood in front of the hospital. No one told me anything, not me or my mother. His colleague Whoever I was on a mission with came, gave us the belt and what else did he have, I texted my father again, I asked him how he felt, he said that now you start to feel the pain, actually.
He said he put it on a CT scanner for his research. They did the CT scan, took him out of the red zone, as he told me, and waited for the results. He would give her another message, try to find out how he felt. The doctors or nurses, at least, didn’t tell us anything. I waited and waited. And they told me, at one point, that they saw a pelvic fracture on the CT scan and that I had a spot on my lung. The doctor told us it was pulmonary pneumonia, “said the gendarme’s daughter, in the video posted on Facebook.
After the initial discussion with his daughter, the gendarme sent a message to the family, in which he said that he was preparing for an operation, an operation that, however, was not carried out, the man being sent to the COVID section, for your analysis.
“They did the test. They couldn’t leave him like that, because he was in a lot of pain, and they pierced his knees with a drill to put weights on him and pull his hips back. We put him in the room, they didn’t even give him a glass of water, and then dad told me that a doctor had come and told the nurses to give him a cup of water, ”the young woman also said.
“I was crying in pain on the phone, telling myself that I couldn’t take it anymore, that I couldn’t take it anymore”
The day after the accident, on Saturday, November 14, the PCR results confirmed that the gendarme was infected with the new coronavirus. However, Daniel Jure’s daughter also claims that no one from the medical staff informed her father or anyone in the family about this COVID test result.
The young doctor was informed about this only on Monday, November 16, about this, says the young woman. The young woman also reported that, from Friday to Monday, her father complained of terrible pain, which she told the family about by phone.
“I called him and he was just crying in pain on the phone, telling me that he couldn’t take it anymore, that he couldn’t take it anymore. I wanted to help him but I couldn’t help it, I was tied to my hands and feet. nothing for him, and those who should have taken care of him, respectively the nurses, did not even approach him (..) He had not gone to the bathroom for three days.
The nurse told us to take laxatives. We went to the pharmacy and took it. Then I rang the bell. The nurse told me that I need patience, a lot of patience, that there is no one to come.
I called again after half an hour and the nurse told me not to bother her because if she hadn’t died yet, she would have ten more minutes. What could he bear that, after three days of torment, he had no power left? He couldn’t even raise his hand to push that damn button for someone to come and give him a sedative, “added the gendarme’s daughter.
Denisa Jurje relates that on Sunday she managed to find the doctor who was treating her father at the hospital, who told her that the patient was in better condition and that he was going to be operated on. At the same time, the gendarme continues to tell his relatives that he can no longer resist the pain, his health deteriorated violently during the day on Monday.
In fact, during the night of Monday, November 16, as Denisa Jurje recounted in the video posted on her Facebook page, her father could not even speak coherently. In the last phone conversation, he told his wife that he was very tired and wanted to rest. On Tuesday morning, around 9 a.m., the man died, without having undergone surgery for the pelvic fracture he had suffered.
The family turned to a lawyer. The reaction of the hospital representatives
Daniel Jurje’s family states that the hospital representatives did not even announce his death and that, two hours after the man’s death, at around 11 a.m., the terrible news was sent to them by the commander of the unit where the gendarme worked. .
“A healthy man died for days. They put him in the grave for days. I can’t explain what soul they may have, I can’t tell people, those individuals in hospitals to make fun of patients, to make fun of the souls of some people and tell us members that if they don’t die, be patient, until they accept the system and realize the problems it has, they have no way of knowing what a man is going through.
And you have no way of knowing how desperate you are at that damn portal. I don’t want any enemy to go through what my family and I went through. He helped everyone, but no one helped him. He went and went by the SMURD doctors when there were scandals, but the hospital doctors put him in the grave. I never thought that it would end up like this because of some doctors that he always praised, he always praised, he saw as saints, but in reality they became his executioners, ”said the gendarme’s daughter.
Denisa Jurje also specified that together with her family they will go “to the white canvases” to do justice to her father. The young woman also said that the family has already approached a lawyer about it.
In response sent to adevarul.ro, officials from the Targu Mures Comarca Emergency Hospital only stated that at the medical unit level “we have not registered an official complaint / notification from the family, which is why in this case we have not an investigation was launched. ” official “.
