Vaccination against the coronavirus begins on Sunday in 10 first-line hospitals, which, however, reach only 3,000 doses for the first administration, which means that 6,000 doses of the “symbol” section will be used. GCS announces why there are almost 4,000 doses left.
Representatives of the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) were asked Saturday night what happens to 4,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, which, in theory, are not used.
“The more than 3,000 doses that will arrive tomorrow (Sunday) at the hospitals are only for the first administration and are an estimated requirement prepared by each hospital unit and may be subject to change. Some of the hospital staff are on sick leave, others shortly after the SARS-Cov-2 infection, others have recently experienced this infection and have decided to wait until they are vaccinated ”, responded the people from GCS.
They emphasize that these doses must go where they are most needed.
The vaccine developed by BioNTech and Pfizer is given in two doses: the starting dose and the booster dose.
On Friday, Christmas Day, 10,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine arrived in Romania, representing the “symbol” section. Another 144,000-dose tranche will arrive in the country on Monday.
