The Vaslui Court ordered the 30-day detention of the brothers Victor Ion Maftei, Valerica Andrei Maftei, Catalin Maftei and George Maftei from the Vaslui town of Epureni, who on the night of August 28 to 29 murdered a 30-year-old man from Botosani, who lived in Vaslui County, according to adevarul.ro.

Over the years, the nine brothers of the Maftei family have aroused terror among the villagers and neighboring communes, being recognized for their extraordinary aggression.
During the confrontation at the end of last week, a young man from Zorleni’s group was wounded with an ax. Medical personnel arrived at the scene and could do nothing to save him, and several neighbors called 112 that night, scared by the scale of the violence.

Over the years, Maftei’s brothers from the Epureni commune have been the target of a multitude of criminal cases, for crimes of coup, destruction, threat, etc. In 2017, two of Mafta’s brothers were convicted after crushing an uncle. The man required nearly 90 days of medical attention for the injuries he sustained. Although he requested non-pecuniary damage, the judges rejected the request, as the victim was not granted any lei.
Each time, they escaped with ridiculous punishments, despite their criminal record.
Although they were known as the bad boys of the commune, in the defense of the Mafta brothers, people of the first order of the community jumped: the mayor, the teacher of the town. The characterizations submitted in court, by which they were presented as good, civilized and calm boys, weighed decisively in the establishment of the penalties.

In the last two cases, resolved by the Barlad Court, in 2017 and 2018, respectively, three of the Dinamita brothers, sent to trial for beatings, threats and destruction were sentenced to a criminal fine of 2,000 lei, 3,000 lei respectively, which They did not comply. they haven’t been paid so far.
Two of the brothers were recently asked to replace the fine by imprisonment, but the court again showed clemency and awarded them another sentence for the fine that they forgot in the last three years.
