If the vote of no-confidence passes the vote of Parliament on Monday, Marcel Ciolacu will propose for the position of Prime Minister Leonardo Badea, former PSD member of Parliament, current deputy governor of the National Bank. President Klaus Iohannis will have the last word. A graduate of the ASE Bucharest Faculty of Finance, Leonardo Badea was elected Senator of Dâmboviţa in 2012 by the PSD (on the USL lists), being one of the relatives of Adrian Ţuţuianu, at that time president of the Dâmboviţa County Council . In the 2016 parliamentary elections, Badea is elected deputy, also in Dâmboviţa, then he is awarded by Liviu Dragnea with the position of chairman of the Budget, Finance and Banking Commission in the Chamber of Deputies, but remains in Parliament for only half a year .
In the summer of 2017, Leonardo Badea became president of the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), also with the support of Dragnea. At ASF, Badea received an exorbitant salary: almost 15,000 euros a month. Meanwhile, his political protector, Adrian Ţuţuianu, was fired by Liviu Dragnea of the PSD and came to ProRomania. Leonardo Badea resigned after only two years of the direction of the ASF, but took care to organize a new prestige sinecura before him. In the fall of last year, he was supported by PSD for the position of lieutenant governor of the NBR, where he receives “only” 13,000 euros a month, and his term is five years.
The PSD and its partners in Parliament (ALDE, ProRomania and PPUSL) are currently obtaining 234 votes, one above the majority. Plus five more votes (at least) from the deputies of the PSD national loyal minorities. However, despite the parliamentary arithmetic, the motion will not be approved, say sources in the leadership of the PSD of Adevărul.
PSD President Marcel Ciolacu fears that MPs controlled by Ionel Arsene (PSD Neamţ leader) and Dumitru Buzatu (PSD Vaslui leader) will not vote the motion of no confidence against the Orban government, Adevărul political sources say. Arsene and Buzatu have a personal dispute with Ciolacu. In total, the two Moldovan barons control at least 10 MPs.
In an online meeting with NLP leaders in the territory, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban assured them that the motion of no confidence will not pass the vote of Parliament, Adevărul political sources say. “On Monday we will have a good time, then we will be calm with the campaign, the government and the elections. The motion does not pass, “Prime Minister Ludovic Orban told NLP leaders in the country, at a meeting on campaign issues.
Marcel Ciolacu affirms that Victor Ponta’s counter-accusations between PSD and PNL are frivolous. The PSD president asks the ProRomania leader to keep his word and vote against the Orban government on the motion of no confidence scheduled for Monday. Víctor Ponta says that the result is already known: the motion fails.
