Exclusive. State media institutions were drawn. TVR comes to USR. NLP takes over Radio

In the December 2020 political negotiations between PNL, USR-Plus and UDMR for the division of important functions in the state, ministries and heads of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate, several were divided. Respectively also the management of TVR and the Romanian Broadcasting Company (Radio). USR-Plus requested and received TVR, and PNL was satisfied with Radio. The scandal of recent days around the TVR theme of New Year’s Eve was dealt with by all the politicians who spoke out, only for political purposes. Personal or group promotion.

No politician addressed the substantive issue of the two state media institutions. His political captivity.

TVR and Radio are still political prisoners

27 years ago, Law 41 on the organization and operation of the Romanian Broadcasting Company and the Romanian Television Society was passed. In 1994. Since then, no political party has been interested in initiating a law to depoliticize TVR and Radio. The leaders of the two state media institutions are politically appointed, in accordance with Law 41, according to who comes to power. Either by PSD, PNL or other parties, or by the Government or the Presidential Administration. Now RSU progressives have joined the chorus.

The plenary sessions of the Parliament are those voted by the TVR and Radio Boards of Directors, which are made up of representatives of all the parliamentary parties. And the right to have the supreme leaders in TVR and Radio belongs to the party or parties that occupy the most seats in the Legislature. Currently, both TVR and Radio have been led for years by two representatives supported by PSD: Doina Gradea on TVR and Georgică Severin on Radio.

New Year’s Eve TVR theme was diverted by USR and PNL

The New Year’s Eve scandal broadcast on TVR was diverted by politicians from the underlying theme of the issue. Respectively, the mediocre quality of the National Television product and the way the money for this program was distributed. He was brought into the political arena. Which does not repair, but aggravates the situation in TVR. And from now on and from the perspective. PNL politicians complained that New Year’s Eve protagonists, two members of the Vacanța Mare gang, caricatured state president Klauss Iohannis and Prime Minister Cîțu.

The press has the right and the obligation to criticize the political class. Otherwise it is censorship. Regarding the quality of the product and the distribution of the money, the management of TVR, led by Doina Gradea, must be responsible. This is not addressed by politicians.

USR-Plus legislators, led by Iulian Bulai, head of the Chamber of Deputies’ Culture, Art and Media Commission, accused the authorities of flouting the restrictions on measures to combat the covid.

Instead of claiming, again, the questionable quality of the texts, the leaders of USR and Plus directly invoke a blow to the precepts of Covid.

And it also indicates what kind of approach TVR should take. The correct policy, I say. I mean, still censorship.

Disinterest in TVR activity was fully proven by PNL in 2020. The Orban government had the legal right to appoint a representative on the TVR Board. It did not. He also left the representative of the PSD, Cătălin Blebea, appointed by Viorica Dăncilă.

NLP had an empty place to fill the TVR AC. The incumbent, Liviu Brătescu, left as Secretary of State in the Ministry of Culture of the Orban Government. NLP left the place, empty.

TVR Moldova can no longer be watched by Prut, the Penelistas lie

Now NLP leaders are complaining about the politicization of New Year’s Eve. Not the quality of the product. When they could have legally intervened occupying the two positions they held on the TVR Board of Directors to help the correct and efficient operation of television, they did not do so.

Here is a final example of a challengeable action by the current National Television leadership. TVR Moldova can no longer be received by the citizens of the whole Prut because TVR in Bucharest has not paid its debts with Radiocommunications in the Republic of Moldova.

“It is an extremely serious situation that does nothing more than encourage the Moscow games to limit the presence of the Romanian media in the Republic of Moldova,” the NLP senator for the diaspora, Viorel Badea, said today. The only liberal who addressed a fundamental issue of the current leadership of TVR. And not politicized.

TVR sources affirm that this is a lie: “TVR Moldova can be received, having had digital terrestrial transmission for months. The analog license was until March 1, 2020, and the State Radiocommunication Company continued to transmit the signal without asking TVR. Then you can receive TVR Moldova, only politicians make statements by ear, without understanding the difference between digital and analog transmission “

According to the leaders of the ruling coalition, the leadership of TVR will change once it enters the parliamentary session, in February.

Older people who have been leading TVR for years are changing with so many controversies, with new people. Which is already pronounced by the introduction of the concept of politically correct. I mean, a new kind of censorship.
