The letter sent by Vasile Lavric to the prosecutor in the case, but also the statement he gave at the hearings was published by A3.ro. The so-called “Devouring Woman” writes to the prosecutor Romulus Varga, who also investigated the famous disappearance of Elodia, which has nothing to do with the disappearance of his last wife.
The man has been detained since the beginning of December and since then, as a form of protest, he has refused to eat.
He lost 16 kilograms and is concerned about the fate of the children who were left behind. Because, until another, the woman has been missing for 6 months and investigators have no proof if she is alive or dead or who the murderer could be.
Vasile Lavric’s letter is 9 pages long. He writes in capital letters and starts right by building his alibi for the night of his wife Aurica’s disappearance: “Check my phone and my wife’s. It is not true that my wife and I left home, moving in an unknown direction, because my wife was breastfeeding both 2-year-old girls (María) and 4-year-old girls (Andreia) ”.

Investigators believe Aurica Lavric disappeared the night of June 10-11. But no one reported the disappearance to the police. Not even her husband, Vasile, who later motivates, in the letter addressed to the prosecutor in the case, the apparent disinterest: “I did not notify the Police at this time, asking her son and saying that he will return home. (…) It didn’t make me think that it would take a few months for them not to answer us. It was not a case of disappearance from what I told them, but of abandonment of the family ”.
Vasile Lavric, in the past, mysteriously lost a wife and two girlfriends. Aurica Lavric was only disappeared on September 4, when, being summoned to trial, she did not appear. And also on September 4, she was also placed under international surveillance. 3 months after his disappearance. And still, the researchers only missed Lavric in early December. On December 3, the man makes the first statement, recorded on audio-video, in the case in which he is arrested for murder: “The accusation is unfounded. First of all, I knew that my wife was going to leave home, considering that we had some holes in the banks and we have relatives abroad. When he left, he left me money to buy firewood, potatoes and pay the banks to keep them up to date. That’s why he left me the newsletter. She just went with her passport. (…) My wife told me, before I left, to buy barabule, wood, to pay the fees in the banks. He left one morning, about four and a half months ago. I cannot specify the day of the week that he left, nor the month. “
Both in the statement made to the investigators and in the letter, Vasile Lavric explains his innocence and even scolds the police and prosecutors for not doing anything to find his wife: “I ask once again that these police and investigators fulfill their duty to search to my wife Lavric Aurica, bring her into our circle, solve the case. (…) I am not guilty of these murder charges and there is no evidence against me. It brings very serious accusations to me and to my family, FOR THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF THE INVESTIGATORS ”.
The same impotence that Lavric has known for more than 20 years. The disappearances began in 1995. One of his wife’s sisters at the time, Iuliana Iordache, disappeared without a trace. The girl’s mother stated at the time that Iuliana had been seen for the last time, while boarding Vasile Lavric’s minibus. And since then nobody knows anything about her.
Ten years later, his wife, Nicoleta Lavric, also disappeared, five days after she filed for divorce. The woman learned that her husband was having an affair with one of his sisters. Almost two months later, the sister with whom he cheated on Nicoleta, Ramona Iordache, also disappears. To all these disappearances are added two other mysterious deaths: Lavric’s first wife died in a car accident in 1979, after divorcing him. And his second wife, Cristina, suffers a heart attack at 23 years old.
Vasile Lavric was never convicted of the death of any of the 6 women. In 2015, the Suceava Court of Appeal sentenced him to 3 years in prison with suspension for attempted murder. Vasile Lavric is currently charged with murder. Apparently he tried to kill his third wife with a hammer. But, the fact is investigated only after the disappearance of the woman. That is, in 2014. Practically, at that time, the prosecutors had 3 disappearances and no evidence. A medical certificate stating that in 2000, 5 years before she simply evaporated, Nicoleta Lavric was hospitalized after receiving a blow to the head with a hammer. It was the only evidence obtained against Lavric in the case of their disappearances and deaths.
He has another conviction. In 1976, at the age of 18, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison for rape with execution.
He is now charged with murder, domestic violence and desecration. The man further claims that he is innocent and investigators are required to gather evidence both in his prosecution and in his defense. And they are obliged to find out what happened to both the last woman who disappeared, as well as the others.
