DIICOT prosecutors and Organized Crime police officers did so on Sunday the biggest catch of hashish and pills Captagon from Romania. The drugs, which arrived from Syria, have a total value of 60 million euros and were hidden between boxes of organic soap.
„During the month of August, prosecutors and police from the Directorate for the Fight against Organized Crime of DIICOT carried out investigations into the maritime transport of two containers loaded in a port in Syria, bound for the port of Constanța, “said the quaestor. Liviu Vasilescu, at a press conference, before announcing his retirement from the leadership of the Romanian police.
Police carried out a check on Sunday and in one of the two containers, 1,480 kilograms of hashish and more than 4 million Captagon pills were discovered, for a total of 751 kilograms. The market value of the total amount of drugs in this case is about 80 million euros.
Pills Captagon has a very high amphetamine content. According to DIICOT, captagon is also known as the “drug of jihad.”
„The drugs were hidden among legal assets, to avoid their discovery by specific means of detection of these substances. The coating products were very high-density organic soap, which was intended to mask the drugs between cardboard boxes that contained soap, “Vasilescu said.
„It is the largest catch of hashish and pills. Captagon carried out by law enforcement structures with powers related to the fight against drug trafficking in Romania from the date of creation of DIICOT until now, ”he added.
