Dan Cruceru, the host of the Survivor program on Kanal D, told us what happened when he returned from the Dominican Republic.

When asked what was the hardest question his little girl asked, Dan Cruceru told us:

“When I returned from the Dominican Republic, I spent two weeks in solitary confinement. I stayed on the ground floor of the house and the rest of the family upstairs. Very close to each other, but without direct contact. When I got home, Sophia was waiting for me. She hadn’t been in my arms for over four months, and my arms were that safe place for her that she enjoyed every day. Although I had nothing, although I had come to Romania with a special career, although I felt that I did not have the virus, I chose to respect the law. So I didn’t hug my children. And Sophia was in front of me, 2 meters from me and she was looking at me and she wanted to jump on my chest. And I was crying because my soul was breaking and I was wondering: “Dad, but why can’t I take you in my arms?” And, at that very moment, hundreds of ignorant and unaware people were going to parties in bars in Herastrau. God, what a revolt I felt in those moments! “

Although Covid-19 overlooked it, it was not as simple as the dengue virus that he contracted in the Dominican Republic. It was four months where he presented Survivor Romania for Kanal D. The TV host was right at the beginning of the competition when he faced this situation. In fact, he was the first European to contract the disease decades after the last case.
