Big pharmaceuticals have entered the race to develop the first vaccine against covid-19 but, beyond efficiency, the price will be very important. The president of Sanofi France says that the COVID-19 vaccine will cost less than 10 euros, according to Mediafax.
The cost of the future anti-Covid-19 vaccine developed by the Sanofi and Gsk laboratories “is not yet fully established”, but it will be “less than 10 euros”, said Olivier Bogillot, president of Sanofi France, quoted by ANSA.

Regarding the 2.50 euro price announced by competitor AstraZeneca, Bogillot said the difference is that Sanofi uses all its “in-house” resources, while AstraZeneca “outsources production a lot.”
“The French and Europeans will receive the Sanofi vaccine at the same time as American patients,” he said.
“We signed during the summer with the Americans, in the same week with the Europeans and the British,” added Olivier Bogillot, adding that the United States will have around 100 million doses, the Europeans 300 million and the United Kingdom 60 million.
