Cluj County ranks first in the incidence of coronavirus infections, with 4.09 reported cases per 1,000 residents, the Strategic Communication Group announced Wednesday.

Bucharest is in second place, with an index of 3.81.

Another four municipalities have this contagion rate higher than 3 per thousand inhabitants, this being the average of the last 14 days.

The four counties are Alba – with 3.72, Harghita – with 3.12, Sălaj – with 3.43 and Timiș – with 3.39.

The accumulated infection coefficient at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipality and county level of Bucharest:

In the last 24 hours, 5,343 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported, a new record for coronavirus infections since the start of the pandemic. Furthermore, 107 Romanians died on the last day, the highest number of deaths recorded so far.
