Clotilde Armand lies, either to cover up her cowardice or as part of an electoral strategy based on avoiding face-to-face confrontation with political competitors.
Armand was invited to the DCNews study twice this week for election debates with other mayoral candidates. A regular at the newsroom, with whom she collaborated both on the phone, on current political issues, and attending video interviews, Mrs. Armand launched a disqualifying attack on the site, as justification for her absence from the set.
The debate, which was attended by Daniel Tudorache, Adriana Bahmuțeanu and Daniel Bucura, took place on Friday at 12. At around 3 pm, Mrs. Armand announced her Facebook bubble: “Now she has sent me an invitation to the site in question. to participate in a “debate” with the Bolshevik mayor of Sector 1. I want to be very clear: I do not give credit to the PSD fake news factory that is paid for with public money “. False. “Now” was at least a day earlier, not to mention that the first invitation had been sent to her earlier in the week.
As a former head of a company that got most of its turnover from contracts with the state, like the company that advised Bechtel, it’s normal for Armand to pay attention to public money. Of course, when you have the French state behind you and make use of its prestige, as only she declares, money is earned differently.
But this does not give a Romanian politician the right to lie, to circulate false news, as Ms Armand does when she writes on Facebook that “Bogdan Chirieac’s website received by direct order, without tender, two contracts worth of € 30,000 from the PSD Mayor of Sector 5. In April, Bogdan Chirieac’s company received 2.4 million lei from the Sector 4 City Council and in July it also received € 15,000 from Sector 5 ”. Everything is false. That did not happen.
We hope that it does not hide, as it does in the case of electoral debates, invoking parliamentary immunity. A citizen without immunity is liable in court for these lies. We can understand that you do not have the courage to face your opponents in a televised debate and you do not have ownership of the Romanian terms. But “Bolshevik” is more in line with Ms Armand’s strategy, who is trying to discredit the non-aligned press of RSU, by telling lies in public. Or, more elegantly, fake news.
