“There is the possibility, we will discuss with the relevant ministers and the prime minister, to perhaps introduce a performance-based motivational salary component through the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR). For example, there are multiple variants, we analyze them with attention ”, declared Sorin Cîmpeanu at the end of the government meeting on Wednesday.
In Cîmpeanu’s opinion, the teachers “coped with the conditions in which educational systems recognized as more advanced than Romania had difficulties convincing teachers to engage in online teaching without equipment, without specific training.” In Romania, teachers made efforts, each of which was better understood, for the educational process to continue. So there are special merits that must be recognized and there must be motivation ”, according to EduPedu.ro.
“Teachers in Romania certainly deserve a motivating salary system,” said the Minister of Education.
Increase the standard cost per student
He specified that, in the standard cost per student that has a salary component, this component in the last 4 years, from 2016 to 2020, has doubled, from 3,024 lei for the salary component in 2016 to 6,111 lei for the component of wages in 2020.
“At the same time, the component allocated to all operating expenses of the school, from electricity, supply of running water when available, heating costs in winter, hygiene, protection against covid, vocational training … in 2016 it was 321 lei per student, now it is 387 lei per student. The urgency is a significant increase in the standard cost per student for the schools to function. Without neglecting the component of salary increase “, said Sorin Cîmpeanu.
