The murder took place in a slaughterhouse in the village of Nucşoara, Poseşti commune, on Christmas Eve. According to some sources, two Sri Lankan workers, employees of the slaughterhouse, got into a fight after consuming excess alcohol. The exact reason for the dispute is unknown, because the entire dispute between the two men took place in the mother tongue, the sources cited say.

The victim, a 40-year-old man, was stabbed in the neck and died before the ambulance medics could provide first aid. Apparently the murder weapon was a knife used in the slaughterhouse.

The 48-year-old attacker was also injured during the fight. He has multiple head and leg injuries, but his life is not in danger. He was hospitalized on Friday night in the Ploieşti Emergency Hospital for medical attention.

The man has not yet been heard and the Prahova authorities are waiting for a translator to arrive because the Sri Lankan citizen does not know a language of international circulation.

The case was taken up by a prosecutor from the Public Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Prahova Court.
