A 40-year-old tourist died tonight, in the Făgăraș Mountains, after falling from a height of 400 meters. The man was from Bucharest and he was alone on the mountain. He was trying to climb a hill.

Ion Sănduloiu, head of Salvamont Argeș: 112 notified us about a tourist … The person who called and told us that he saw him fall exactly like a rock from stone to stone, from a wall.

My colleagues went to the scene of the accident and it was clear that he was falling a lot because he had multiple injuries. We hoped we could deliver him alive to the helicopter.

He survived until the helicopter arrived, he was unconscious, but the injuries were incompatible with life and he died.

I was on a climbing route, only climbing is done together with a teammate and insurance. Or, it seems that the man was an experienced mountaineer, he went to the mountain, but chose to go alone and what should not have happened happened.

When I found him, he was unconscious.

There are many situations in which the mountain is treated superficially. We do not make them understand that they do not have to treat mountains as they are treated.

This is not the case now! The knight who sadly died was properly equipped. But what he chose to do was not do it this way: without insurance, without a teammate.
