A former Suceava gendarme, who was also involved in the peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, died of a coronavirus infection. The man, who was 42 years old, was confirmed on December 19 and a few days later he was hospitalized in ATI, with extremely low oxygen saturation. The patient had no comorbidities, but died on the first day of the year, reports News.ro.

“The year 2021 started with very sad news. On the first day of the year, a former gendarme from the Suceava County Gendarme Inspectorate died at the age of just 42, being killed by COVID-19. Neculai Prostire was confirmed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and after a few days, on December 19, he was hospitalized in Suceava County Hospital, ATI department, with very low oxygen saturation. He did not present other comorbidities, ”the Suceava Gendarmerie transmitted on Saturday.

From 2004 to 2012, the man worked in the field of public order and security, making his debut in the Fălticeni Intervention and Surveillance Group.

From December 2010 to June 2011, he participated in the international peacekeeping mission in the province of Kosovo.
