Prime Minister Florin Cîţu announces the acceleration of the vaccination campaign, given that in the next two months Romania will receive more than eight million doses of vaccine.

“More than 3,000,000 doses of vaccine administered so far! The good news is that 1 million people have already obtained full immunity with the two doses. We have two million people who received the first dose. We are accelerating the vaccination campaign: in April we received more than 3.3 million doses of vaccine and more than 5 million doses in May. We will increase the administration capacity so that people who want to get vaccinated have access as soon as possible, “wrote Florin Cîţu on Facebook on Wednesday for the night, adding: “We all want to get back to normal, and vaccination is the fastest way to get there. Get rid of the pandemic.”

Florin Cîțu explained on Wednesday, at the end of the Government meeting, how the new rules were decided in Romania. Cîţu affirms that all restrictions are necessary and, compared to all other EU countries, our country has the most relaxed measures to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

“In February, January, I remember that I kept getting questions about this difference between Romania and Europe, because in Europe there were more and more restrictive measures and in Romania they remained relaxed. And I was telling them that I look at various indicators, the number of people that I’m seeing, the number of deaths, and I’ve been saying ever since that no action is warranted. Unfortunately, since the end of February, the number has started to increase slightly. Covid cases, the number of people with ATI began to increase, the number of deaths, but also the calls to 112 related to the covid, considering all these indicators, we decided to have consultations with prefects, with the association of municipalities and cities, with the county councils, to find solutions. I wanted to talk to them because they are the local leaders, ”declared the prime minister.
