The story seems inspired by a love movie. Benjamin, a man from the United States, fell in love with Larisa, a young woman from Dej, and to be with her he decided to sell all his properties in America and leave everything to move to Romania. Upon reaching his destination, Benjamin had an unpleasant surprise.
The authorities did not allow him to step on Romanian soil because his transfer from the United States would not have had a justifiable reason. And even the man announced that he was coming to marry his Romanian girlfriend, he was detained in the neutral zone of the Cluj-Napoca International Airport.
“He sold his house to come here, to help me and my son. This was the first time we saw each other. The idea was to come and get married, we have no other choice, we would get married at the airport if possible. what we want, “the Romanian woman told the Observator journalists.
Interestingly, Benjamin flew safely to Germany, where he made a stopover. When he left the United States, he also had a negative PCR test less than 24 hours ago, but the alert status rules in Romania did not allow him to set foot in the country. Foreign citizens can enter Romania only under certain conditions, and Benjamin’s reason was not considered sufficient to allow him access to the country.
Desperate, Benjamin and Larisa announced that they were even willing to get married at the Cluj airport and used the services of a lawyer to support their case before the authorities, but with no chance of success. Unbending, the authorities forced Benjamin to return, and now he can only wait for the rules to change or call his girlfriend to Germany to be together.
