Several parliamentarians did not wait for the end of the session on the first day that the budget was debated in the plenary session of the two Houses of Parliament. Therefore, some of them ordered their colleagues to vote for them.
UPGRADE Titi Stoica, a member of the AUR party, admitted that he had voted for a colleague. He claims that he was talking to him on the phone at the time to find out exactly what he had to do. USR MP Filip Havârneanu also accused AUR’s Lucian Feodorov on Facebook of having voted nine times with two cards.
Titi Stoica, deputy GOLD: “I did not vote for anyone.”
Journalist: There are videos that show this.
Ema Stoica, Digi24 journalist: Who is your colleague?
Titi Stoica, GOLD deputy: “It is my colleague, Ionuț Neagu, senator from Covasna.”
Journalists: Why did you vote for him?
Titi Stoica, GOLD deputy: “Because I was with him on the phone and he couldn’t attend.”
Images posted on Facebook by USR Senator Darău Irineu show Titi Stoica voting on two devices.
Likewise, USR MP Filip Havârneanu filmed AUR MP Lucian Feodorov, whom he accused of voting nine times with two cards. The AUR deputy responded that a colleague had “given him a court order.”
PSD deputy Matilda Goleac is suspected of having voted twice for the amendments to the 2021 budget, that is, also for her, and instead of her bank colleague, Laura Vicol, also a PSD deputy. The accusations come from Deputy USR PLUS Emanuel Ungureanu, who also posted two videos on Facebook that would capture the alleged events..
Whether this actually happened and what MP Matilda Goleac has to say remains to be seen. According to the regulation, the vote is not “delegated”, each parliamentarian must vote for himself.
Deputy Emanuel Ungureanu can notify the Chamber of Deputies leadership about this vote, but at this time it is quite difficult to verify, given the number of votes that were in Parliament on Monday, by the thousands, either for the budget or for amendments.
There are marathon debates in Parliament, lasting more than 8 hours, on the budget law for 2021. They were supposed to end at midnight, but they were extended for another two hours, until 2:00. The PSD, which tabled more than 2,500 amendments, had demanded that the debates continue until 7:00 in the morning. Most of the amendments presented by PSD concern the Ministry of Regional Development and it is very likely that the discussions will not end, and on Tuesday at 10:00 a new plenary session is called and a final vote is expected for the 2021 budget.
