Children’s allowances increase in five stages of equal face value, the Finance Ministry announced on Friday. As of January 1, the second increase of 20% is applied, so the amount of the subsidy becomes 427 lei for children up to 2 years and children with disabilities and 214 lei for children between 2 and 18 years.
“We will be able to pay the bonuses increased by 20 percent at the beginning of this year and already paid since February,” Labor Minister Raluca Turcan told Digi24 on Friday.
Regarding the increase in bonuses, Raluca Turcan said that the ministry has assumed its increase by 20 percent since the beginning of the year, but it was striking that the bill that provides for two tranches of increase in bonuses, with 40 percent cent, in the middle of this year.
“I learned one thing in politics: when it comes to a project in Parliament, never get ahead of yourself. We manage what we currently have in payment, that is, the increase in appropriations by 20 percent. Also, I cannot comment, because the vote in Parliament has always been decisive ”, declared the Minister of Labor for Digi24.
As allocations increase
According to the Government Emergency Ordinance No. 123/2020 for the modification of art. 3 of Law no. 61/1993 on the state subsidy for children, increasing the subsidy for children up to the level of 600 lei for children up to 2 years and children with disabilities, respectively up to 300 lei for children between 2 and 18 years, is achieved in stages increasing by 20 percentage points, applied to the amount resulting from the difference between the amount of 600 lei and 300 lei, respectively, and the amount previously granted, in July 2020, states a statement from the Ministry of Finance, cited by Mediafax.
Therefore, GEO 123/2020 foresees the increase of rights in five stages of equal nominal valuerespectively 58 lei for children up to 2 years old and children with disabilities and 29 lei for children between 2 and 18 years old. Amount of allowances as of January 1, 2021
On the effective date of Government Emergency Ordinance No. 123/2020, the amount of the state child allowance in payment was:
- 311 lei for children up to 2 years and children with disabilities; Therefore, the increase that represents 20 percentage points, applied to the amount resulting from the difference between the amount of 600 lei, is 58 lei ((600-311) * 20% = 58)
- 156 lei for children between 2 and 18 years old; Therefore, the increase that represents 20 percentage points, applied to the amount resulting from the difference between the amount of 300 lei, is 29 lei ((300-156) * 20% = 29).
In application of the provisions of the Government Emergency Ordinance No. 123/2020 on August 1, 2020 sa applied first increase of 20 percentage points, the allocation amount becomes 369 lei for children up to 2 years and children with disabilities and 185 lei for children between 2 and 18 years old.
