On November 16, 2020, the Lugoj District Court issued a first sentence in a case in which a driver with a Lamborghini, fined for illegally parking in front of the Police headquarters, in the places reserved for the cars of the Police, challenged the fine.
The sanction was applied on August 1, 2020, when the driver of a Lamborghini went to the Lugoj Police to retrieve the documents that were taken from him for controls, on the occasion of a traffic stop. Arriving in front of the Police headquarters, the driver parked his Lamborghini in the places dedicated to MIA cars.
The man showed that an agent who was in front of the police unit asked him to move the car, since he was in a parking lot reserved for MIA cars. The driver also stated that although “he explained to the agent why he was in that place, leaving him, after recovering his personal documents, he considered that he did not follow the instructions given and proceeded to punish him.”
After the trial, the judge proved that the deed for which the driver was fined is real, but the 870 lei fine is too severe, so the fine was replaced by a warning.
“Although the act committed by the petitioner presents a high degree of social danger, given that it was not committed in circumstances that aggravate it, it did not produce other unfavorable consequences, in addition to the factual context in which it was committed. the application of the sanction of the fine, and the sanction of the warning would probably determine that the petitioner respects the traffic regulations ”, is reflected in the judgment of the Lugoj Court, which is not final, and can be appealed before the Timiş.
The lesson the judges gave to a driver caught driving a Lamborghini at 254 km / h: “The mere fact that he is the father of three children should make him responsible”
