However, there are also measures to help people who have been financially affected by the pandemic. Thus, the subscription period will be extended until March 31, 2021.

The allocations would increase by 20 percent in 2021, but it is unclear when or in what way. The pension point will increase by 8 percent, but only from September. And the minimum wage would increase, after discussions between employers, unions and the prime minister, but the amount displeases unionists.

Support measures for a pandemic

Prime Minister Florin Cîţu said on Monday that the ordinance on measures for the 2021 budget will be approved at the government meeting on Wednesday, including state aid for HoReCa, granting of holiday vouchers, aid through SME Invest, extension of active measures until June 30, 2021.

“It will be an ordinance that will be made transparent and will be approved at the government meeting on Wednesday. Active measures will be extended until June 30, 2021. (…). He added that the state aid scheme for the provision of economic aid to HoReCa will be approved and promoted, “a long-awaited measure”, a scheme that has a budget of 500 million euros.

“Holiday vouchers worth 1,450 lei to stimulate Romanian tourism will continue in 2021. For HoReCa, on the one hand we have this state aid system, the voucher system continues and I can tell you that by March those in this sector will be exempt of the payment of the specific tax, ”said the prime minister.

Also on the agenda for Wednesday’s hearing is a draft emergency ordinance on taking action on the composition of appeal panels, but also a draft decision on the organizational structure and personnel of the Ministry of the Interior.

The government will also decide on the release and appointment of prefects and sub-prefects and will discuss the memorandum on the presentation of the periodic national report on the implementation of the international convention for the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination, says Agerpres.
