Vlad Teohari, whose candidacy for the parliamentary elections was invalidated by the USR, announced on Tuesday that he will demand in court a compensation of 816,000 lei from the leaders of the USR responsible for the “abusive invalidation” of his candidacy. His party colleague, Dumitru Dobrev, defends him in court.
“After exhausting any appeals within the party, I tried to redress the injustice in court. The court rejected my appeal to the USR PLUS list, including my registration on the USR PLUS list of candidates for the diaspora constituency. But not I give up. “I am trying to find justice by starting this new process, which is a civil liability action,” Vlad Teohari said.
He says that by invalidating his candidacy, a certain damage was done to him: the loss of the opportunity to be a deputy, his place on the list was 100% eligible, as seen after the elections.
Teohari also says that if he wins in court, he will not become a MP, but could win “the equivalent of monetary injustice.” “If RSU and politicians in general do not work, at least justice should show political leaders that they cannot behave like satraps,” Teohari said.
The asking amount is 816,000 lei.
Vlad Teohari is an engineer, established in France since 2016. His candidacy for the parliamentary elections, supported by USR PLUS Diaspora, was invalidated by the National Office following a negative integrity opinion issued by the party’s Arbitration Commission, after he signed the year approved an open letter initiated by Mihai Goţiu and in which more than 100 members of the USR demanded the executions of the party. Subsequently, the RSU Political Committee overturned the negative opinion, but the deadline for submitting nominations for the Diaspora had expired.
