Prime Minister Florin Cîțu declared this Monday, after the Government meeting, that the salaries of public servants will not increase in 2021 until an analysis of the “anomalies” and “exceptions” of the legislation is made.

“As for employees in the budget environment, I said it, I repeat it, and I will say it all the time: I am not in favor of cutting wages, I do not vote to cut wages. At this moment, we are analyzing whether the current law is effective, in terms of salaries in the public domain, that all kinds of anomalies and exceptions appeared at the time this law was approved. We will do a comprehensive analysis, we will give the result and, until then, the income of the public sector employees, both local and central, remains at the income level of December 2020, until we have an analysis of the aspects and implications of the wage law, one of those exceptions that have appeared, “said Cîţu, after the government meeting.

At the government meeting on Wednesday, the minimum wage would be increased by 70 lei.
