Adi Mutu, out of the U21 team? The Turks announce that the coach is going to Istanbul

The technician has already had several rounds of negotiation and, through the employers, has shown his willingness to take a new step in his career.

The cited source adds that Quality I would have had discussions with five clubs of the first Turkish league, and in the next few days I would go to Istanbul to make the final decision.

Adrian Mutu took over the Romania youth national team in January 2020, recording two wins, a draw and a loss. The coach qualified the team for the European Youth Championship, where the tricolor will face Germany, Hungary and Netherlands.

Before working for the national team, Mutu trained for a short time at Voluntary FC (2018), but also in the United Arab Emirates, in his second team Al wahda (2018-2019).

Adrian Mutu was also wanted in CFR Cluj

Neluțu Varga, CFR Cluj’s main financier, announced, shortly after Dan Petrescu’s separation became official, who wants Adi Mutu as a coach.

Răzvan Burleanu said there is no doubt about such a transfer, especially since the coach would have denied the interest of the champions for him.

In fact, Varga spoke with Mutu. In addition, “Briliantul” would have gone to Gruia as a coach, according to well-informed sources at digisport.ro. The former soccer great immediately made a beating plan, convinced that he will part ways, one way or another, from FRF. There have been several negotiations in this regard, because in the middle there is a termination clause worth 50,000 euros.

Mutu seems to have urgently gone to Cluj to meet face to face with the Cluj financier. There he allegedly told Varga that he was not an expensive coach and that he wanted a monthly salary of 15,000 euros. Furthermore, the current coach of the youth team was ready to take over the team immediately, just before the duel with CSKA Sofia.

However, Varga’s plans were upset by Marian Copilu, his main collaborator, who did not agree with such a move. Copilu said that Mutu is inexperienced and that such a move would not be beneficial to the Gruia group. Varga, who promised Copilu, when Dan Petrescu returned to the CFR, that he would not go beyond his word, decided to stop the negotiations, although he was not very convinced.
