The Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Brașov will receive tomorrow 100 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine of the 10,000 that arrived in the country, and in 3 weeks another 100 doses will arrive for the booster, says Dr. Andreea Moldovan, director of the hospital. In fact, Moldavan will be the first to be vaccinated in Brasov tomorrow, when the vaccination campaign begins in Romania.
„I was surprised that some staff members avoided vaccination, but more than those who already had the disease. But the vast majority of us will definitely get vaccinated, “he said.
Moldavan said that all doctors will be vaccinated, especially since some of them have been through the disease, even in severe forms.
„I am glad that all my medical colleagues decided to get vaccinated, relying on this vaccine, “he said.
The doctor says there is more skepticism among the support staff, even if many want to get vaccinated.
„I think that personal example will also matter a lot. We did information sessions at the hospital in which we tried to show the type of vaccine, how it works, the side effects detected so far, globally. The expression I used is that this vaccine is like a smartphone compared to the vaccines I have used so far, ”said the doctor.
Andreea Moldovan will be the first person of Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Brașov.
„I have been waiting for this moment since the pandemic started in Romania in March. I think it is a historic moment, it may seem like a great word, but it is not enough to express how I feel. I am aware that we are all vulnerable to disease, unfortunately we have seen many serious forms of disease or forms with a lethal end that we have not been able to get back from the road, sadly. I’m not necessarily afraid for myself, but for those around me, so I consider it my duty to protect myself to protect others as well, ”she said.
„We are ready to start tomorrow the vaccination campaign in our hospital ”, a added the doctor.
