On the invalidation of his parliamentary mandate by the AUR leadership, Francisc Toba stated for B1 TV: “It is a beautiful story, but it has no legal backing. A mandate can only be invalidated under the law and the law says very clearly that the mandate is invalidated by the Validation Commission only if in the electoral campaign the candidate committed criminal acts related to the application of the electoral law. I am not in this situation. “
“Regarding the accusations that were brought against my activity during the Revolution, I made available to the AUR leadership, about 10 days ago, the entire file from which it is very clear that the highest military court – the Military Court of Appeal – decided not to prosecute, because the facts do not exist and the accusation is completely null, because it did not respect the Code of Criminal Procedure. I received the sentence in 2004 ”, Toba also declared for B1 TV.
He then said he was charged with “crimes and other nonsense … that have not been confirmed.”
Simion’s announcement comes after the Society of Timisoara sent on Wednesday 16 December a manifesto against the intention of the leader of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians, George Simion, to participate in the commemorative events of the Revolution of Timisoara.
Company representatives show that two agents involved in the repression of the Revolution, Francisc Toba and Nicolae Roman, became parliamentarians of the AUR, and without resigning from them and without demanding their resignation, Simion will not be able to participate in the demonstrations.
