On Saturday, the prefect Silviu-Iulian Coșa rejected His Eminence Teodosie’s invitation to participate in the pilgrimage to the cave of Saint Andrew, saying that he complies with the legal provisions and, as he is not a resident of the commune of Ion Corvin, he cannot assist. The Prefecture of Constanța transmitted, on Saturday night, that everyone is aware of the importance of the feast dedicated to Saint Andrew the Apostle, with the date of November 30, each year, being one full of meaning for any Romanian Orthodox Christian, according to mediafax.ro.

Representatives of the Prefecture affirm, however, that in the coming days great emphasis will be placed on public order and personal integrity of each participant in the pilgrimage.

“We will take care of the health safety of all, organizing flows and circuits through which to comply with all the health protection regulations. In this sense, yesterday (Friday – no.), The gendarmes and policemen, together with the inspectors of DSP Constanța, were in the Monastery of the Cave of San Andrés to establish these circuits. Regarding the invitation sent by the Archdiocese of Tomis to local and central officials, the prefect Silviu-Iulian Co saida said he will not honor it.
