“The tragedy of Saturday night on the ATI section, after which ten people lost their lives, affected us all. Especially the families of the patients, the medical personnel who intervened to save and be saved, the medical personnel of Piatra Neamț and doctors from all over the country, journalists, me and my family, people who understand suffering and who know that no one and -I wanted something like that to happen sometime.

It is in our nature, of people, that in those moments at thatwe are guilty, we ask for explanations, each one gives his opinion about what was or how it could have been avoided. So maybe me too. But I learned that, first of all, I have to be cerebral, and that is what I tried to do immediately after the tragedy. Together with the team at Piatra Neamț County Emergency Hospital, we tested and found solutions to keep the medical unit running. It was important for patients who are still in critical condition to have an adequate space in which to receive necessary medical care. Work is now underway to make the new ATI beds operational today. Tonight, we made available to investigators all the documents needed to find the true cause of the fire.

I have no doubt that all the decisions made now and before have been made so that the medical team can serve patients in the best and most efficient way possible. I wanted to be okay.

Unfortunately, politics is in everything and everything. I can understand it. This has been the case for 30 years. From the comfortable office chairs, things are different. When you are near the patient’s bed, you see reality. Medical activity in a hospital is subordinate to the Ministry of Health and administrative activity is subordinate to local public authorities. Some with medicines, others with money. Among them is politics. Not everyone works together, which is sometimes only to the detriment of those who should matter: patients.

My presence as manager of the Hospital does not help at this time. It is time to withdraw and wait for the specialists to establish very clearly what were the causes that caused the fire that burned a living room and caused deep injuries to many people. The resignation is not an abandonment, it is a gesture that I make with the respect that I believe the families of the patients and the affected medical personnel deserve!

As human beings, I ask everyone to show understanding and not put unnecessary pressure on the hospital’s medical team, who must continue to focus on saving as many lives as possible.

My resignation will be presented at dawn tomorrow, not without first making sure that I do not leave things to chance, but that there will be continuity without syncope, ”wrote Lucian Micu on Facebook.

The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Superior Court of Cassation and Justice reports that the location of the ATI room where the fire started at the Piatra Neamț County Hospital has been established and that four of the autopsies of the victims have been performed. Prosecutors will collect medical devices and equipment for examination, according to a statement issued by the Attorney General’s Office Sunday night.
