In the last 24 hours, 1,053 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, of the 22,320 tests carried out. Another 60 people died due to coronavirus infections, a new record for deaths in Romania. After several weeks in which Bucharest had the highest number of new cases, the capital was overtaken by Iași County, where 95 coronavirus infections were reported in the last 24 hours.
According to data provided by the Strategic Communication Group, new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in all counties. Most of the cases are in Iasi, Bucharest and Prahova. In addition, a significant increase is observed in Bacău county.
The counties with the fewest infections reported in the last day are Tulcea, Călărași, Gorj and Mureș.
Between 31.08.2020 (10:00) – 01.09.2020 (10:00) there were 60 deaths (35 men and 25 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Neamț, Olt, Vaslui,, Ilfov and Bucharest.
