The driver of a transportation company was held in pretrial detention for 30 days by District Court 1, and prosecutors accused him of attempting to rape two women.
The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the 1st District Court of Bucharest ordered, on August 29, the opening of criminal proceedings against a man for committing two attempts for the crime of rape.
“The accusation was briefly contained in the indictment. On 08/27/2020, the injured person requested through a mobile application a passenger transport within the municipality of Bucharest. Following the request, the accused presented himself as the driver of the a motor vehicle, which during the race tried to have oral sex with the injured person, under duress, without success. Then, on 08/28/2020, during another passenger transport, the defendant tried to have different oral sex with an injured person, for coercion, without achieving it ”, is shown in a statement from the Public Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Court of First Instance.
Prosecutors proposed to take the measure of preventive detention against the defendant for a period of 30 days, a proposal admitted on August 29 by the Court of District 1 of Bucharest.
