Aleksei Navalny is still in an induced coma, but his condition is stable, German doctors said on Friday, who, according to sources cited by Der Spiegel, suspect that the toxic substance used in the attack on the Russian dissident is military.

“The patient is still in intensive care, in an induced coma. There are no acute life risks and the possible long-term effects are not yet known,” said the Charité Clinic in Berlin, according to Die Welt.

Aleksei Navalny’s spokesman said, according to Reuters, that the Russian opponent’s condition appears to be improving, writes mediafax.ro.

Sources cited by Der Spiegel revealed that German doctors are analyzing the hypothesis that Aleksei Navalny was attacked with a chemical for military use. In this context, the doctors sought the help of specialists from the German army, but also from Great Britain and Bulgaria.

Germany, France, the United States, Great Britain and NATO have asked Russia to investigate the apparent poisoning of Aleksei Navalny. German authorities suspect that Aleksei Navalny, the Russian opposition leader brought to Germany in a coma, has been poisoned, said Steffen Seibert, a spokesman for the Berlin government.

Aleksei Navalny, a critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, felt extremely bad after drinking tea at an airport, and his spokesman believes he was poisoned.
