The Civil Aviation Safety Analysis and Investigation Authority published a photo with the steering wheel of the Boeing 767 plane that broke down on Friday when landing at Băneasa airport. The plane, belonging to the American company Omni Air, had 84 people on board, including military personnel, and it came from Kabul. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
“AIAS has posted a photo of the main gear on the left side of the Boeing 767-300ER Omni Air (N423AX).
AIAS is investigating the ACCIDENT (!) And will publish a preliminary report in 30 days ”, is shown on the Facebook page of BoardingPass, which also published the photo.
The aircraft, registered N423AX, landed at 14:55 at Baneasa Airport after a 5 1/2 hour flight from Kabul, Afghanistan.
After refueling, the plane will take off for Washington DC in the United States.
“An aircraft that was making a special regime flight had problems with the main gear when landing, so it blocked the runway. 84 passengers were safely evacuated. Firefighters and an ambulance were present, no intervention was necessary. Now they are investigating those of AIAS (Civil Aviation Safety Investigation and Analysis Authority), ”said Valentin Iordache, spokesman for the Bucharest National Airports Company.
