DIICOT prosecutors have dismantled a group of pimps who recruit women using the “boy lover” method, to sexually exploit them in several states, such as the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Switzerland.

The pimps acted between 2013 and 2020. The leader of the criminal group was the one who took care of collecting and managing money from prostitution, facilitating the practice of prostitution while maintaining a family environment, intervening and resolving conflicts between injured people, including members of the group, urging young women to practice prostitution under the illusory pretext of raising and maintaining a family.

The other members of the group had the role of determining and facilitating the practice of prostitution by various young women through the “child lover” method and of obtaining sums of money from the practice of prostitution by them.

DIICOT reports that due to the coronavirus pandemic, women were forced to stop working as prostitutes abroad and return to Romania.

At that time, when the members of the group realized that there were several “wives” / “concubines” of the same accused, and to avoid meeting and conflicts between them, the possibility of buying or renting studios was discussed online. in the city. Macin (Tulcea), where some of them can be accommodated.

Following DICOT’s home searches, the amounts of 39,400 euros, SEK 15,500, 9,575 lei, 10 mobile phones and two luxury cars with a value of approximately 70,000 euros were found and seized.

On May 13, 3 accused were detained for 24 hours, and on May 14, they were detained for a period of 30 days by decision of the Tulcea Court.
