The problem, right now, is that no matter how fast we work on this law, the state of alert, the one that follows the state of emergency, will not be able to enter into force before May 18.
On the weekend of May 15-17, Romanians may not be fined with Romanian, except for violating existing laws in the Penal Code. Next weekend there will be no penalties for not declaring or not wearing protective masks indoors.
The CCR specialist gave the answer regarding the weekend of May 15-17.
Toni Greblă, a specialist at the Romanian Constitutional Court, explained what will happen next weekend: “Unfortunately, we will have a legislative vacuum this weekend. Of course, the possibilities of intervening by force, by coercion, are very limited. “
Basically, the authorities will have to trust the seriousness of the Romanians and the fact that they will maintain the measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Currently, there is a good chance that the weekend is unrestricted, because the Alertness Act may not go into effect, as the former CCR judge noted.
“We called attention two weeks ago, before entering this situation, due to the fact that the Government has not decided at the last moment what type of measures to take. And depending on the measure, it had to see what state would be established,” Toni Greblă also said.
The negligence of the authorities could create an extremely serious situation next weekend and would totally compromise the fight so far with the Sars-CoV-2 virus.
