A fire broke out Saturday afternoon at the Stirom Glass Factory, located at Theodor Pallady Blvd. in Bucharest. A tall column of thick, black smoke could be seen rising in the east of the capital, toward the exit of the Autostrada Soarelui, according to images posted on social media.
According to Mediafax, a hall at the bottle collection factory on Theodor Pallady Boulevard caught fire in an oven. In total, the area affected by the flames is approximately 5,000 square meters.
To extinguish the fire, 5 trucks operate with water and foam from ISU Bucharest Ilfov.
No one was injured in the fire, but the flames emit a lot of smoke.
The dense smoke comes from an oil reservoir, but there is no imminent danger, according to the ISU Bucharest spokesperson.
