The SME Invest portal dedicated to companies affected or not by the COVID-19 crisis, opened today for registration at 10:00. Access to the platform began at 05:30, and the situation has evolved to reach a number of 397,000 accesses per minute, according to a statement from FNGCIMM (National Fund for the Guarantee of Credit for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises).

The large number blocked beneficiaries’ access to the site. However, the app was tested for two weeks before launch by FNGCIMM, which created more than 1,700 accounts. At the end of the test, the tests were conducted under traffic conditions of 3 million users per hour.

No beneficiary could register today on the SME Invest platform. The registration procedure will resume step by step from 0, in the shortest possible time.

Eligible SMEs will have the same opportunities to enroll in the program, and the application will be valid until the end of this year, with an assigned maximum limit of 15 billion lei.

The platform is a unique electronic registry that only analyzes if the applicant is eligible and has the status of SMEs, but does not represent the financing agreement. After registration, the applicant is directed to the selected bank and the financier will carry out the solvency analysis. After the bank’s analysis, the documents are relayed to the fund to guarantee the loan.

“The time to resume opening the application will be announced in advance on the websites www.fngcimm.ro, www.imminvest.ro and will be announced publicly through a press release,” according to the FNGCIMM statement.
