The government has issued a government decision modifying the amounts granted to Romanians from the red zones. Now hoteliers will receive 230 lei per room and not per person, as rulers had established in March. The president of the Romanian Federation of the Hotel Industry says that this change does not radically affect. It was a rescue for the hotels, at least they received something during this period, says Călin Ile.
In order to solve the quarantine problem for Romanian citizens coming from the red zones of Europe, the Romanian authorities, in this case the Prefectures and the Public Health Directorates, called the hoteliers to the negotiations. At the beginning of the epidemic in Romania, the state gave 230 lei per person to hotels.
Only last week things changed. By government decision, the executive decided to give 230 lei per room, not per person as it was until now.
Hotel owners do not complain. Călin Ile, President of the Romanian Hotel Industry Federation, told Mediafax that this change does not affect those who own hotels as much.
Călin Ile: “The decision to move to 230 lei per room and not per person will not radically affect because many people cannot stay in the room because 3-4 people are not allowed to stay in the room. We have around 40 hotels that work under such conditions, they are slightly affected, but I don’t think it’s a dramatic measure to complain. “
Călin Ile says that if there were no such possibility, most hotels would have gone bankrupt: “It was a financial saving compared to a time when they would not have received money, now they have received at least something. But let’s not forget that There were some investments that we had to make from a medical point of view. However, it was a good business for everyone. “
If you are afraid, after this epidemic, of staying in a hotel where quarantined people stayed, the president of the Federation of the Hotel Industry tells you not to worry. No risk of infection: “After a few days of not using the room and after sanitation, there is no risk.”
After this epidemic, hotel owners hope to save something this season.
“Based on good communication, I think we could save something from a failed season anyway.” If we end up with a decrease of 50-55% compared to last year, we should be happy, “says the president of the Federation of the Romanian Hotel Industry.
