Rockets’ Danuel House Jr. faces NBA probe for possible breach of bubble protocol

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. – The rest of the Houston Rockets forward Daniel House Jr.’s Western Conference semifinals are in jeopardy as the NBA investigates possible violations of campus protocol, sources told ESPN.

Sources said the House, the sixth man in the Rockets, has denied any wrongdoing in a case involving a league investigating the house’s activity inside the team hotel.

The house does not leave the perimeter of the campus, sources said.

Calling the Rockets “personal reasons” delayed the Los Angeles Lakers’ house for a 3rd loss, and sources said there was no indication the league would let them play Game 4 on Thursday night. The Lakers lead the Rockets 2-1 in the seven best-of-seven playoff series.

The National Basketball Players Association is talking to league officials on behalf of the House and is trying to find a solution to the issue, sources said.

The NBA is believed to be considering whether the House could be subject to a 10-day quarantine period for alleged violations.

Soon after the teams reported to Walt Disney World Resort for the NBA’s resumption, Rockets teammates Bruno Cabboklo and Sacramento Kings Center Rich Unn Holmes had to cut back 10 days for violating campus protocol.

Team and league officials declined to mention the nature of the House breach.

The house averaged 11.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game during the playoffs. Houston coach Mike D’Antoni on Tuesday cited Home, 27, as one of the league’s most underrated two-way players, having to sit out a forward game in the series against the front Lakers.
