Riverdale star Lili Reinhart has confirmed that the upcoming fifth season of the drama will have a seven-year leap, meaning the main characters will eventually not be teenagers.
The actress confirmed the enormous change as she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, saying that work will begin on season five as soon as they have completed the work on season four that they should stop as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Now, we’re taking the first few episodes to complete season four, technically,” she said. “And then, season five, we actually do, I believe, a time of seven years in the future. That we will no longer be teenagers.”

Joke that when the last episodes of season four finally aired “it will be very easy to tell when it was March and when we were filming in September”, the actress, who played Betty Cooper in the drama plays, said she is “psyched” to play an older version of her character.
“I think it will be fun to play an adult,” she said. “But I also really appreciate that Roberto (Aguirre-Sacasa) was our showrunner, ‘Yeah, let’s make it again.’ We are not only in high school for seven seasons. “
Lili also revealed that she is ‘excited’ about getting back to work and getting back into a routine, although she admitted she was a little nervous about the changes that could be made to the filming.
“I have no idea what to expect in this COVID world when it comes to shooting,” she said. “I hope it does not take the pleasure of a day on set.”

Lili’s co-star and former friend Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead Jones Riverdale, confirmed earlier this week that the pair split in March.
“What an incredible experience I had, I will always feel happy and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love,” he wrote in an Instagram tribute to Lili.
“I wish her nothing but the utmost love and happiness ahead. Everything I say about it, everything you hear does not matter.”
When Riverdale long coming back to our screens Lili and Cole will re-earn their roles alongside KJ Apa (Archie Andrews), Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge), Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom), Casey Cott (Kevin Keller) and Vanessa Morgan (Toni Topaz ).
