Riley Keough shared an emotional tribute to his late brother Benjamin, who said he was “pure light” and his “best friend.”
“Mornings are the hardest. I forgot you left. I can’t cry for fear of never stopping,” she wrote on Instagram. “A pain that is new to me. You. There are no words for you.”
“Angel is the closest I can think of,” he said of his younger brother. “Pure light. Baby brother. Best friend. Wild man. Intellectual. Witness of my life. Soulmate. Protector. Too sensitive for this hard world.”
Benjamin, who is the son of Lisa Marie Presley and the grandson of Elvis Presley, died of suicide on July 12. He was 27 years old.
Keough asked his brother to send him strength as he mourns the sudden loss.
“I hope you give me the strength to endure the giant hole you have left in my heart. I hope you give me the strength to eat. I hope you are cradled in love. I hope you feel my love. I hope you feel God. You are God,” he said. . “I can’t believe you left me. You’re not sweet Ben Ben. Anyone but you. I guess it’s a real heartbreak. I hope we’ll see each other again.”
Benjamin Keough had mostly been kept out of the limelight, but made headlines last summer due to his strange resemblance to his grandfather, Elvis Presley.
Her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, is “utterly heartbroken, inconsolable and more than devastated, but she is trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and older daughter Riley,” her spokeswoman told TODAY in a statement. “She adored that child. He was the love of her life.”
