Rihanna’s Fenty Skin Review: Is It Worth The Money?

It hasn’t exactly been a summer full of things to look forward to, but Rihanna is here to change that. After more than a year of speculation about what would become the singer’s next beauty empire, Rih revealed earlier this month that Fenty Skin, a skincare product derived from her now legendary Fenty Beauty makeup line, would arrive. officially at the end of the month.

My friends, that moment is here.

Rihanna has just revealed the first three products that will go from her brain to our top shelves: a creamy cleanser, a toner-serum hybrid (called “Fat Water” because it’s amazing), and a sustainable SPF moisturizer that goes invisible. She calls skin care “non-negotiable,” but the basics are not. Each is designed to multitask to address a variety of skincare concerns and steps.

“I am a woman of color and I have a lot of sensitivities in many areas of my face,” she said in a video posted to Fenty Skin’s Instagram account. “So I get very demanding with the products and for a long time I am scared and cautious. I wanted a product that just worked. More than anything the most important thing for me. I wanted a product that would work for everyone. I wanted the best ingredients and I didn’t want it to cost too much. “

Sustainability is a great touch point on the line, along with clean ingredients. Everything is oil-free, vegan, and gluten-free, while the packaging uses twist-lock lids or refillable jars to help reduce the amount of plastic used. It is also affordable. While many clean skincare lines can fetch double (or triple) digit prices, everything at Fenty Skin costs less than $ 35.

The other good news is that I have been using the full line for the past two weeks and I can finally talk about it. I mean, really, it’s too good a secret for even a Scorpio to keep. The line officially launches on FentySkin.com on Friday, July 31, but if you want a preview before adding everything to the cart, read on for my unfiltered thoughts on the initial Fenty Skin trio, below.

Before Fenty Skin: My rosacea had become inflamed, leaving the texture of my skin uneven and uneven.

After two weeks of Fenty Skin: my skin texture softened and looks brighter overall.

As a micellar water fanatic, and someone who really hates to wash their face at night, it’s hard to make me worry about a cleanser. But if anyone can do it, it’s Rihanna. Let me start with the smell, because my gosh. I don’t know how to describe it other than it smells like a fancy blueberry bun, sweet but not gooey. I generally find perfumed skincare products to be too overwhelming and irritating, so when I found out there was no artificial fragrance in this (or any of the other Fenty Skin products) it made sense.

Instead, this cleanser naturally gets its delicious scent from its ingredients: Barbados cherry (which is packed with brilliant vitamin C), green tea and fig (which are rich in antioxidants), and quince (a fruit that contains conditioning properties).
