Respawn would “love” to make Apex Legends series for Netflix

Respawn would “love” to bring the world of Apex Legends to Netflix or another rival streaming service as a multi-season TV series, acknowledged game director Chad Grenier shortly after the update of Battle Royale’s Season 6 went live.

Apex Legends has just started tapping into its colorful cast of interesting characters for great stories in the battle royale world. In Season 4, Respawn introduced the plot of Revenant v Loba for the very first time, to high praise.

Last season, the Battle Royale first had another twist. Players of Apex Legends got a chance to play a short adventure, “The Broken Ghost,” which culminated in the surprise return of former Titanfall 2 villain Ash.

Respawn “loves” idea of Apex Legends Netflix series

The next frontier of telling Apex Legends could be a television series, according to director Chad Grenier. Nothing has been fixed, but Respawn would take the opportunity to “take Apex Legends to Netflix”, he acknowledged.

“A Netflix animated series from Apex? “Yes, I would like to do that … that sounds great,” Grenier admitted GamesRadar. ‘Sign me up! I think at the moment we’re focused on the game, but heck, if anyone wants to throw something at me, I’ll listen. ”

Apex Legends is already breaking new ground in pop culture media to share their ever evolving narrative in season 6. Following the success of the in-game “Broken Ghost” audio logs in Season 5, Respawn now offers full-color comic books for each completed adventure.

The new season 6 comics will tell smaller “untold stories” about each of the Apex Legends characters in the same way as the “Broken Ghost” logs. These narrative rewards are unlocked by collecting new in-game Treasure Packs.

The idea of an Apex Legends Netflix series is certainly an exciting one. There are half a dozen stories already en route to the Battle of Royale, including Loba’s great revenge arc, Lifeline and Octane’s journey to Olympus, and Mila’s eventual return.

Respawn would probably choose a few characters as central leads if they pulled the trigger on an animated series. The rest would probably act as repeated side characters.

Who would lead an Apex Legends series?

Mirage is an easy early choice – the Apex devs can not get enough of the fast-paced Holographic Trickster. Bangalore is another; the veteran soldier will be “Season and Front” in season 6, Refunded prior to the August 18 update.

Dexerto could also see characters like Wraith, Lifeline and Pathfinder who all play a big role in every potential series. They are legendary traders with interesting stories, making them great main characters for a series with more seasons.

The Loba vs Revenant storyline has dominated Apex Legends for the past two seasons.

Unfortunately, Grenier’s exciting release is not much more than the director of Apex Legends declaring that he would like to do a project like that. Netflix has not officially approached Respawn, at least as far as we can confirm, so expect almost no show.

However, that does not mean that it may not happen in the future. Animated series like Avatar: The Last Airbender are back in vogue on Netflix. Similarly, Star Wars: The Clone Wars just broke records for Disney with its departure season.

The question is, which actors fit which Legend? We could see Ryan Reynolds play a hilarious Mirage, and The Walking Dead’s Sonequa Martin-Green is definitely our tip for Bangalore. Heck, cast Bryan Cranston as Caustic too!
