Reserve Bank of India tests positive for Indian Governor Shaktikanta Das Kovid-19


Das confirmed the news on Twitter on Sunday.

Das wrote in a tweet, “I tested Covid-19 positive. Asymptomatic. Looks very good.”

He said he would “continue to work in isolation” and that work at the bank would proceed as usual.

Das is the country’s latest high-level executive to infect the virus.

Other government officials diagnosed with Covid-1ho include India’s Home Minister Amit Shah, who was hospitalized in August after testing positive for coronavirus, and the southern Indian state of Karnataka’s chief minister, BS Yeddyurappa. Uttar Pradesh Technical Education Minister Kamal Rani Varun has died of a high virus.
India has the second highest number of deaths globally, behind the United States. According to the Indian Ministry of Health and Welfare, more than 7.7 million coronaviruses and 118,534 deaths have been reported in India so far.
