Release date, trailer, and leak of Gotham Knights for game of Court of Owls

After nearly a year of placement and a five-year wait since Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Knight, two new DC games would finally be officially announced on Saturday, August 22nd at DC FanDome. For the official word, we have learned quite a bit about the upcoming game of leaks and a recent ARG.

Here is everything we know about the new game of WB Montreal, allegedly title Batman: Gotham Knights.

When is the Batman: Gotham Knights release date?

We do not currently have a release date for this Batman: Gotham Knights. This will likely be revealed as indicated during the DC FanDome event. Current rumors suggest it may be difficult. One rumor suggests that it could be released in early 2021, while another says we can expect it in November 2020. No matter what the reality is, it should be out within the next year – but we should know much more .

Is there a trailer for that Batman: Gotham Knights?

No. Unfortunately, we are not advanced to the point that games receive trailers before they are announced. A trailer for Batman: Gotham Knights should be released on Friday, August 21st, or Saturday, August 22nd. The game is not even technically confirmed, so we will not have as much as a teaser up to that point.

What is the story for Batman: Gotham Knights?

We do not know the story yet, but from a few vague teaser images it is suspected that villainous groups such as “The Court of Owls” and “League of Assassins” will be involved. This will probably become a bit clear on FanDome.

Are there Batman: Gotham Knights leaks or rumors?

Yes! There are tons of rumors, but they differ in reliability and resemble each other.

One rumor emerging from 4chan in August 2020 claims that the new Batman game could have the monkey Shadow of Mordor nemesis system, orc generals replaced by Talons of the Court of Owls. It also suggests that there will be large open world cities divided into 17 districts, each district being ruled by an Elite Talon.

The city will likely be explored by four main characters: Batman, Nightwing, Robin (Damian Wayne), and Batwoman. An Elite Talon defeat means their district becomes part of “Batman Inc.”, giving access to new upgrades, crafting materials, and so on. It also claims that there will be a secret villain who controls the Court of Owls based on the Three Jokers, a recent villain reveal from DC Comics.

Another rumor from Reddit in May 2020, Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker claim Arkham Origins will return to their respective roles while making the following appearances:

“Soft restart, no Arkham title, ignores previous plots. Gameplay and mechanics of Arkham Knight carry over. Robin, Nightwing and Batgirl are all playable. Biggest open world Gotham City yet. Vehicles are in but no auto field battles. Some villains include Joker, Harley Quinn, Court of Owls, Ra’s al Ghul, Penguin, Riddler, Dollmaker, Clock King and Black Mask. “

Both rumors have not yet received definitive credibility, but they are both definite possibilities based on what we know about the game.

WB Montreal has launched a series of daily teasers via an account called r3dakt3d in August 2020, leading to FanDome. They are suspected to be connected to this new Batman game. Interacting with the teasers will lead you to a virtual ARG rife with clues. According to Jordan Oloman, which inspected the site’s code on August 17, will close the ARG with a trailer for WB Montreal’s new Batman game.

What do the instructions of the r3dakt3d teasers mean for Batman: Gotham Knights?

Each of the daily teasers has a bit of information implied about Batman: Gotham Knights. According to the skin and internal code of the site, this is expected to continue for a total of four days.

Our first and greatest indication are the figures. Every day there is a new code that can be used on the r3dakt3d site. By checking the code of the pages, it was discovered that if you enter any code, you will get 761,941,364,995. While this may look like numerical gibberish, it does correspond to the first appearance of Barbara Gordon, the second Batgirl, which implies that she will be involved in the game.

Gordon has appeared in earlier Arkham games like both Batgirl and Oracle. We do not yet know if this only points to the concept of Batgirl or Barbra Gordon himself.

Our second set of directions comes from the map and its title. Each day, a portion of a map to a city (assuming it is Gotham) is revealed, while it is loaded with a single sentence. On day one, the sentence was One Step Closer. On day two, we got the phrase “Face Two Face.” On day three, the card said “Third time a charm.”

Popular theories suggest that this confirms the involvement of Batman’s classic villain Two-Face. Others believe the phrases may correspond to Batman’s sidekick roster, and implicit characters such as Cassandra Cain, Stephanie Brown, and Damian Wayne may be involved. The latter would make sense, since WB Montreal have apparently spent years on a Damian Wayne game.

How does that work? Batman: Gotham Knights connect with previous Batman Arkham match?

We do not yet know how or if it is related to the former Batman: Arkham series of games. It may be something completely new, but some of the leaks call it a “soft reboot” that will have no immediate impact.

Batman: Gotham Knights is expected to be unveiled on August 22 at DC FanDome.
