Preview

After winning three straight rays, the Astros have taken the last two and things are getting interesting. With the venue still neutral, Rez is now changing a bit for Game 6, with the team becoming the “home” and batting at the bottom of each inning.

Early pitching is a rematch of Game 1.

Snell was good in Game 1, conceding just one run on six hits in five innings. He doesn’t usually go very deep into the game and Reese’s two top-shelf relief weapons – Peter Fairbanks and Diego Castillo – should run perfectly. The third member of the Wanted Back-End trio, Nick Anderson, set up Carlos Correa Walk-Couf in Game 5 and went into serious hot water in Game 2.

Valdez has emerged as a reliable option in the rotation of the Astros this season and has been great in the playoffs (3.00 ERA from three starts). He allowed two runs in six innings in Game 1 with four walks and eight strikeouts to increase his pitch count. The Astros will hopefully become more efficient and eat more innings.

Something to watch out for: Randy Arozerena and Korea both run this postseason six home runs, two out of an all-time record for a playoff.

Forecast

This whole series seems like a futile adventure because of how unpredictable it has been. We’re throwing Valdez really well and will go along with the Astros getting a home run in no time, which will push this to Game 7.
